The MTBE plant of Chemibaft Company became operational in
2003.
Chemibaft construction had been in conjunction with PIIC (Petrochemical
Industries Investment Company) expansion in petrochemical
arena.
The plant produces 45,000 tons/year of MTBE (Methyl Tertiary
Butyl Ether) which is the additive for unleaded gasoline.
The plant is located in south of Iran by Persian Gulf, in
the Special Petrochemical Economic Zone near Bandar Imam Port.
